Involvement

Throughout my college experience at IUP I was involved in various organizations and club soccer. I am passionate about community involvement and serving others. Below are descriptions of my involvement while a student at IUP.

IUP Ambassadors-IUP (2011-2013)

I served as a link between prospective students, current students, administrators, faculty members, alumni, and friends. IUP Ambassadors provided me with many leadership development opportunities. I was a committee coordinator of CASE ASAP District II Conference, Leader of New Member Mentor Program, and presented at CASE ASAP National Conference. These experiences have provided me with opportunities to grow as a leader and team member though collaborating with others.

Leadership Experiences:

Saturday Night Committee Coordinator of CASE ASAP District II Conference (March 2012)

Leader of New Member Mentor Program (February 2012-May-2012)

Presented at CASE ASAP National Conference (August 2012)

Best Buddies (2010-2013)

I developed a one-to-one friendship with a girl with Autism that lives in the Indiana community. Best Buddies is an organization that is dedicated to establishing friendships and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

IUP Pre-Service Teacher of Mathematics (January 2012-May 2013)

I volunteered at an after school math tutoring program with second and third graders. I was involved in various volunteer opportunities and fundraisers that supported a family math night for the families in the local community.

IUP Women’s Club Soccer-September 2011-May 2013

Vice President

While at IUP I played and served as the Vice President on the team since it was founded in 2011. One of my responsibilities was to organize and lead practices.

After School Math Tutor (August 2011-December 2012)

As an after school math tutor at a local school, I assisted elementary students individually and in small groups. I created activities for the students depending on their needs and interests in order for them to better comprehend the math content.
